I was born and raised in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley. It was a fabulous place to grow up and to return to. I’m grateful every day that my father chose to exchange white color work and a long, slow, Bay Area commute for the often grueling life of a logger when he moved to the Bitterroot. He eventually bought, built up and ran a business in Hamilton for several decades. I grew up breathing the air of consistent and focused work and the value of integrity, trustworthiness, and reliability…along with the fresh, clean air of the valley.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Montana State University in Bozeman, I spent several years on the West Coast. I taught junior high and high school in the LA Basin prior to moving north to the Bay Area. There I taught junior high and high school English in private schools for several years prior settling in the Napa Valley. There I joined a small and top notch Destination Management Company. The company owner dubbed me “The Duchess of Details” (yes, even on my business card) as I arranged and orchestrated multi-faceted events for small groups to groups of a few hundred.

While living in Napa, I learned that my life-long enjoyment of reading recipes, cooking, and baking, and my appreciation for fresh, best, and pure ingredients for the fullest flavors had a name…foodie. My favorite focus was on sweet treats, probably associated with early childhood much loved neighbors in Corvallis having been sugar beet farmers who often took me along to the beet drop at the old train station.

While in Napa I taught myself chocolatier skills and started making chocolates using unique ingredients. My inventions were appreciated by residents and even a few chefs, so I was inspired to get myself home to the Bitterroot and start a business. When I am not guiding people like you through the process of buying or selling their homes, it is likely you will find me at my commercial kitchen in Darby creating Wildflower Confections’ specialties.
